Nautilus
Logo Design
Nautilus is a local surfboard shaper in Cayucos, CA. He reached out to me for a new logo that was unique and incorperated the golden ratio of a nautilus shell.
Using Mexican tiles as inspiration, I combined a wave and the golden ratio found in a nautilus shell. With the power & perfection of nature captured, the last step was to add a human touch by drawing it by hand.
The word mark is made of equal sized tiles. The letters naturally took interesting shapes because of the limitations of the tiles and single line weight of my brush.
